The village of Ribeira Da Janela is a freguesia located in the region of the city of Porto Moniz, in the northwest of Madeira Island. A small village on a mountainside facing the Atlantic Ocean. To get there you need to take the E.R. 209 which crosses the centre of the island.

This small village of barely 300 inhabitants is located at the end of a long ridge (which is crossed by the famous ER209 road) and can be discovered on foot with one of the hiking routes not to be missed: the Vereda da Janela (PR15) with the discovery of the Fanal forest and/or the Levada Dos Cedros (PR14). Below the village: The Ribeira de Janela valley, suitable for hiking and excursions, with one of the most beautiful Levada that starts in Porto Moniz: the Ribeira da Janela Levada.
As for access to the ocean, a small pebble beach faces the islets of Ribeira da Janela.
